Private Jet Spotlight - the Learjet 45 and 45XR

At JC Flight Solutions, we charter many different types of aircraft. One of the most popular choices is a classic in the industry - the Learjet. Founded in the late 1950’s, Learjet has designed many variations of their original, groundbreaking aircraft. In fact, Learjet was among the first companies to manufacture a private, luxury aircraft.

Although Learjet is a subsidiary of a Canadian company, Bombardier Aerospace, the planes are assembled in the Midwest of the United States, at their headquarters in Wichita, Kansas. As one of the first companies to manufacture private jets, Learjet sets the standard on private, luxury aircraft.

The first Learjet was based on a Swiss ground-attack fighter aircraft - the FFA P-16. They continued to work hard to achieve many firsts in the industry, including exceeding one million flight hours with their worldwide fleet in 1974, and producing their 500th jet in 1975. They continued to grow, and currently employ over 3,000 employees.

Two of the highest requested models at JC Flight Solutions are the Learjet 45 and the Learjet 45XR. These jets are classified as light class jets, but offer many of the amenities and features of larger aircraft. Professionals love the Learjet 45’s fold down work tables, and exceptionally quiet cabin, which can accommodate 8 guests in a double club configuration, as well as two flight crew members.

Other notable features of the Learjet 45 are ample legroom, with wider than average seats, a fully adjustable temperature controlled cabin, over 60 cubic feet of storage space, and a restroom that runs the full width of the plane, with optional belted potty seat. The Learjet 45 is able to fly nonstop for nearly 2,000 nautical miles, with a 1,000 mile flight being completed in just over 2 hours. Refueling time is also exceptionally short - it can be done in about ten minutes!

When it comes to engineering, the Learjet 45 really shines. The completely redesigned fuselage allows for more head and shoulder room than previous models of Learjets. It offers excellent fuel economy, handling, and a superior anti-ice system compared to any plane in its class. Powered by two TFE73120 turbo fan engines, it can cruise at speeds of 445 knots (or nautical miles per hour), and has a maximum altitude of 51,000 feet. The 3-D navigation system on the Learjet 45 is included in the Honeywell Primus 1000 avionics suite.

The newer model Learjet 45XR offers additional cruising speed, faster climb rates, and better runway performance, with an upgraded interior and increased legroom when compared to the Learjet 45. Some jets offer wide area augmentation system capable flight management system and WiFi capabilities.

JC Flight Solutions loves to offer our clients the best private luxury aircraft along with exceptional customer service that adapts with your needs. We believe the Learjet 45 and Learjet 45XR are outstanding options for someone looking to charter a jet with great performance that is also cost effective. They are wonderful choices for discerning professionals and frequent travelers.
